Notes from pages 134-139 in the textbook
Today in class, Mr. Schick instructed that we can either work and finish our blogs if we can, do homework for other subjects, or get started on pages 146-149 so we can be ahead of the game. Obviously, the option I chose was to work on my blog, I will be recording the notes I took a couple days ago on pages 134-139 in the 'Ancient World History' textbook. Democracy and Greece's Golden Age. Main idea- Democratic principles and classical culture flourished during Greece's golden age. Athens experienced a growth in intellectual, and artistic learning. This period is often called the Golden Age of Athens. During this golden age, drama, sculpture, poetry, philosophy, architecture, and science all reached new heights. A wise and able statesman named Pericles led Athens during much of its golden age. Pericles held onto popular support for 32 years. He was a politician, speaker, and general. Pericles increased the number of public officials who were paid salaries. Those were part of the notes that I had taken yesterday in class.
